Puerto Rico - International Youth Development (IYD) STM - July 13 - 20, 2019
Puerto Rico is a Caribbean island that is a self-governing commonwealth of the United States of America. It was struck with back-to-back Hurricanes. Irma skirted by but caused flooding and power failure and Maria, a Category 4 struck two-weeks later on September 20, 2017. In the aftermath, Maria caused catastrophic flooding, power loss and loss of life.
Lott Carey will partner with the American Baptist Home Mission Societies and Iglesias Bautistas de Puerto Rico for ongoing volunteer service work as we seek to rebuild, restore and renew the hurricane-ravaged island.
Lott Carey youth will be involved in community service activities, vacation bible school, peer-to-peer youth programs and etc. Your presence and service will be a witness to Christ love and compassion for the people. You will also be making an eternal difference in the people’s lives that you will meet and minister to in Puerto Rico.
Expect a closer relationship with the Lord, knowing ‘that which you have done for the least of these my brethren, you have done unto the Lord’ Matthew 25:40.
